About the Site GHI's Aims and Objectives

The overarching aim of GHI is to support the implementation of the Learning Together Strategy for Education, Training and Lifelong Learning for NHS staff in Glasgow. The key objectives of GHI are as follows:

• To make web-based health information more accessible to NHS Glasgow staff and students and the wider healthcare community by presenting it via a user-friendly Internet portal, incorporating search and browse functionality
• To provide access to learning and information resources to all staff and student groups in a targeted and inclusive manner, without prejudice to groups traditionally excluded from access to health information resources
• To provide a site for healthcare staff and students in Glasgow with a strong local and Glasgow-focused identity
• To underpin the delivery of patient care through structured organisation and management of the knowledge base of health care
• To provide a visible presence for cross-sectoral information sharing within Glasgow, drawing together input from NHS, Higher Education, City Council and Voluntary sectors
